The Hole in the Wall, sounds like it would be a quaint little place, right? Wrong. Measured at exactly 100 meters long, the old Tudor style building is the longest pub in Europe, which is just one of many reasons to stop in.

Here at the Hole in the Wall, we’ve been serving beer and tasty bits for years. We began as a medieval inn and tavern, but have since moved to providing a unique destination for food, drinks and a getaway from the busy cityscape of Dublin.

Nestled against the Phoenix Park wall, soldiers were forbidden to leave the park, so they got their beer through the hole in the wall, our namesake.

We have an extensive menu and events throughout the year, so keep reading for a glimpse into the Hole in the Wall at Phoenix Park.

Porridge in the Park

Start your Sunday morning off on the right foot with a jog through Phoenix Park! Join the local community of walkers, runners and cyclists and enjoy a free bowl of porridge between 10 a.m. and noon.

Wine Shop

With more than 450 wines in stock there’s sure to be a wine to satisfy your tastebuds. Once you find a wine, enjoy it at dinner with no corkage fee. The shop is ideal for wine connoisseurs and commoners alike, and our wine vouchers make a lovely gift.

Keep an eye on our website and social media pages for upcoming wine-related events such as the Wine and Craft Beer Fair around Christmas and wine dinners throughout the year.

Restaurant

Warm up on a drizzly Dublin day with our homemade Soup of the Day, served with Guinness Bread, or a mouth watering burger fresh off our charcoal and oak oven. We are proud to offer simple, tasty meals made to order from our kitchen.

Pub

Complete with our very own craft beer, our bar includes a variety of craft beers, spirits and more. ‘The Holer’ is a hoppy ale with a sweet, malty finish made of tropical fruit and grapefruit flavours. We also have an Irish Lager and a gin, inspired by Phoenix Park, is on the way. The bar and building itself are full of traditional Irish charm–the perfect getaway from city life without having to go far from home.

Coffee House

We take coffee very seriously here. So seriously that this fall we will be introducing our own brand, Hole Bean. We’ve been working with Alan Philips of Studio Coffee in Co. Meath to create a specialty roast available exclusively at Hole in the Wall. Keep an eye on our social media to stay updated on the progress.

Christmas

Christmas time is a big deal here. Not big, huge. We’re arguably the most festive pub in Ireland during the Christmas season because we transform into a winter wonderland, complete with visits from Santa and giveaways for days. It takes us nearly a month to deck to halls of the Hole.

Christmas is the time of giving, so proceeds from a number of our events go to support local charities like St. Vincent’s and Temple Street Hospital. Check out more events here.
